During the quarter ending Sept- 30, 1910, the Order of the Sons of Tem- perance through its officials report- ed loss by death to the extent of four members. We ilnd that "High- land Division,” located at Hartsville has occasion to mourn the visita- tion of death in the removal of Bro. Alex McKenzie, P. W. P. This bro- ther gave splendid promise but he was removed hence and' we extend sympathy most cordial, to the bereaved loved ones, and also to the division of which he was ser valued a- member. In the decease of Sister Maud Mclntosh, another loyal mem- ber of Highland .Division is taken early in years and we would com- mend her loved ones and all her dear friends to the consolation of the highest. Harmony Division at Freetown mourns the removal by death of Miss Mary Lidstone. We would de- sire to place on record the sense of serious loss sustained in the above deaths and may God of All Comfort abundantly sustain the sorrowing. But the death of Brother John J. Chappell has made a gap in our ranks hard to till. His life was not exceptionally long, but it was ex- ceptionally active in connection with the interests relative to temperance, sobriety and good citizenship. In the church he was zealous and consistent, in the community he was circum- spect and well-disposed in all his so- cial and moral relationships. As a Son of Temperance he had few super- iors, and in the Grand Division of P. E. Island he bore himself with dignity, decorum and honor. His re- cord in the ranks of our Order was a long one. .,. Initiated into Victoria Division, No. -1, Charlottetown, Jan'y, 12, 1863. Moved to Fa-irville, N. B., in 18115, and became a charter member by card of Fairville Division, No. 182. He returned to Charlottetown and re-joined Viictoria Division by card, Dec. 1s, 111111. He was made a member of the Grand Division of P. E, I., April 20th, 1869. Was elected Grand Scribe of G. D. Oct; 29, D875, and was ele- vated to the honourable position -of Grand Worthy Patriarch of G.' D. of P. E. I., on Oct. 17,1877. Joined the National Division of North A- merica, June 18,1878, in the city of Buffalo, N. Y. At the same session of the National Division he was in- stituted Most Worthy Sentinel. For some time he faithfully filled the office of Grand Sup't. of Young People's Work in his own Grand Division. _ To his widow and family we would extend our most sincere sympathy and commend them to the consola- tions of the grace and comfort of Him who doth all things well. If your back is constantly aching and if you experience dull shooting pains, your kidneys are out of order. If your urine is thick and cloudy or your passages frequent scanty and painful, your kidneys and bladder are out of order. Neglect quickly brings on rheumatism, diabetis, liimbago sciatica and etc. Mrs. John Wagner of 110 Hollis St., Halifax, N. S., says: "Dull shooting pains would catch me across the small part of my back and ex- tend into my shoulders and neck, often causing me to suffer with sc- vere headaches and spells of dizzi- ness. Some Questions and Their Answers I Why is it that one housewife can make a good loaf of bread from a standard brand of tiour, while an- other makes a very inferior article? It is because one woman “knows how," while the other does not. The same thing is true in making i biscuits; a very great deal depends ‘upon the baker. The J. A; Marven Limited have in their employ one of the very best bakers in Canada, a man of successful experience, whose specialty is making White Lily Cream Sodas, which are “simply delicious."
