     IN pursuance of an Act of the General Assembly of this 
     
     Island made and passed in the Eleventh year of the 
     
     reign of Her Majesty; Queen Victoria. intituled “ An Act 
     
     for levying further an Assessment on all Lands in this 
     
     Colony, and for the encouragement of Education;” and also 
     
     an Act in amendment of the said Act, intituled “An Act 
     
     to explain and amend the present Act for the Assessment 
     
     of Land, and the encouragement of Education ;” and also 
     
     of an Act made and passed in the twenty-fourth year of the 
     
     said reign, intituled, “ An Act to raise funds for the pur- 
     
     poses 01 Education by imposing an additional Assessment 
     
     on Land in this Island. and on real Estate in Charlotte- 
     
     town and Common and Georgetown and Common.” Ido 
     
     hereby give public notice that 1 have made proclamation 
     
     according to the terms of the said Acts, of all the under- 
     
     mentioned Town Lots, Water Lots, Cotnmon Lots. Pasture 
     
     Lots, Islands, Townships, or parts of Townships, in this 
     
     Island, in arrear tor the non-payment of the several sums 
     
     due and owing thereon to Her Majesty, under and by vir-

     said Isaac IIowat in and to five acres of land, situate in Saint 
     
     Eleanor’s, described as follows: commencing at a stake fixed on 
     
     Frederick Cannon’s North line. running from thence along said line 
     
     West thirty degrees, North fivo chains; thence North thirty degrees, 
     
     East ten chains; thence East thirty degrees, South five chains; 
     
     thence South thirty degrees, West ten chains, to the place 01' 
     
     beginning, containing live acres of land, a little more or less, 
     
     bounded on the East by reserved land for a road twenty feet wide, 
     
     50 to remain. and is part of Township Nutnbcr seventeen, together

     PUBLIC NOTICE, 
     
     IIEREAS the undersigned. by commission hearing date the 
     
     3rd day of December, 1864, have been appointed to enquire 
     
     what damage or advantage will accrue to the owners or occupiers 
     
     of the land through which it is intended to open a Road along the 
     
     Boundary lineof’I‘ownships Nos. 23 and 31. 
     
     We do hereby give notice. that we will eotnmence the execution 
     
     of said Commission, by attending on said Line, on WEDNESDAY
