Jan. 20, 1890. “A Resident” Speaks. S1x,—Some scribbling knave has had published two communications in the columns of the Patriot within the last month censuring Hon. D Ferguson and the Local Government, and signing himself ‘*Cherry Valley, Lot 50.” As1 have al- ways lived in Cherry Valley and know just who resides here, | know to a certainty that no person within or near its boundries has penned or inspired either of these trashy communications referred to. If any aggrieved or designing person has any bile to get relieved of or any private malice to gratify he had better in future appear over his own signature and state his locality, Cherry Valley does not need an outside mouthpiece, either politically or otherwise. If this meddlesome fellow continues in the future to stain the fair fame of Cherry Valley by his seribblings against Hon. D Ferguson, we shall feel compelled to public- ly expose his treachery and duplicity. A ResIDENT. ee ee Attend our auction sales to-night, Com- fortable room, and seats for the ladies.
