established the plots as part of the 1990 forest inventory. Botanists collected ground plant data from these a 2 square metre subset of these plots. The interpretation of this kind of data involves fairly complicated statistics and this data remained un- interpreted until chance brought Dr. Doug Sobey into the Forestry Division to discuss potential botanical projects on the Island. He became quite enthused about the plant data set as it also included a great deal of information on the surrounding trees and soils which the Forestry Division was willing to share in addition to assisting with certain COStS. One of the many products that came out of his analysis of this data was a plant (floristic) inventory titled Analysis of the Ground Flora and Other Data Collected during the 1991 RE]. Forest Inventory. The following list was compiled from that report by the Island Nature Trust as part of an effort to identify sites where these rare or uncommon plants can be found. Ifyou know of locations where they can be found, please drop a note and a description of how to find the site (a map would also be useful) where they are located. This information will be important in better defining where these plants occur.
