N D MacLean UPTIMISM Additional Details Of Ailjourned Annual I Meeting Of C. N. S. F. B. Ass’n. At Sum- merside. That the bottom was reached last year in the depression so far as the fox industry is concerned was the opinion expressed by Mr. Fras- er, of C. M. Lampson and Cum- pany, New York, ag Tucsday`s ad- journed annual meeting of the Canadian National silver I-‘ox Breeders Association. Mr. Fraser considered it remarkable that in spite of world conditions the pclt market was cleaned up. Fox men must, not look for excessive prices, he said, but the demand would be better than last year. Mr. George Myers of Fred. I-Iuth and Co., also spoke along the same lines and said the silver fox fur in- dustry is here to stay, as in spite of fluctuations thc industry had held its ovm. Following are addiiicnaldciailsof the changes made in the constitu- tion of the Association at Tuc-sd.1y's meeting: meeting was the keeping of regist- ered and unregistered foxes in the same ranch. This was very fully discussed, but with a few minor changes the article dealing with it was posed. , Considerable dlsciirsfon took place with regard to the new rule that an adult female fox which has produced puppies that do not con- form to the standard for registcra- tion shall be subject io refinspec- tion although she had previously successfully passed the prescribed two consecutive inspections. This clause was finally approved of. A new rule dealing with the nom- ination of directors was introduced in the constitution, pro-.-idliic that no member, unless he is the owner of a ranch cf 1111101 bred silver foxes cculd .fit on the board. This led to considerable dis- ¢,,55i0,, as it was pointed out that many had foxes boarding o11t but did not actually own a ranch. Mr. L. T. Leeman of Salisbury N- B-> at present a director of the As"0c- lation, would. bc affected by this new rule: but 1|, was finally devld' ed that it was in the best interest of the majority of the members that the rule be adopted. . Besides the change in the fiscal year from May 31st to Dec 31 and the subsequent change in 1.110 (1010 of the annual meeting to the third Tuesday in January, a change in the notice w be sive" fc each member -was made from 30 L0 60 days. Notice of amendments mil-Sl be given ninety days in advance of general meeting.
