But as-ide from this doing without food the well trained box- er has a slower heart rate than the average. What about a. slow heart rate in those who are not boxers? Is a slow heart a good sir". or a bad sign? Dr. Philip W. Morgan, Emporiu- tells in the Journal of the Kansas Medical Socie of communicating with 26 life insurance th a slow heart rate to those with the norma rate and their life expect- ancy-how long tl-"v "r-v» lively to liviee-as compared with the normal T8. Dr. Morgan found that these life in- surance companies accepted appli- cants withbradycardia. (slow heart rate) and ocmsionally even with a marked bradycardical. In 700 young men with medical histories remark- a/bly tree from serious ilness, heart rates-with individual resting -of less than B0 were found in three percent .and rates of 00 to 65 were found in i6 percent, making a total of nineteen percent with pulse rates of 86 or less. Dr. Morgan's observations show that a fair percentage of apparently normal healthy individuals have a slow heart rate and that they can expect, a ‘rig to medical statis- tics, about an 18 to f8 percent bet- ter death rate than the average. Thus those with a. slow heart rate who are otherwise healthy may now feel assured that a slow heart rate is an asset, not a lia/bility, as it means that heart and blood vee- sels are doing work in an effluent manner Mortgage Sale To be sold by public auction in front of the Law Courts Bulldlnl‘ in Charlottetown on Wednesday the 23rd, day of March, A.
