Thomas-Oulton, the Amherst cyc- list, asain proved his superiority over George L. Prowse, Charlotte- -town, the Maritime champion, in a ten mile bicycle race on the Ram-_ blers' grounds last evening. The race was called at 6.30 o'clock with three starters, Oulton, Prowse and Roland Chullman. Chapman is voung at the game but for three miles made an excellent showing, leading the other two contestants. At the third mile Prowse forced ahead and maintained a straight lead from the third to the fifth mile but Oulton was pressing him hard all the time. In the fifth vrilo. Oulton forged ahead and led from the fifth to the seventh mile. From that until_the ninth mile there was considerable see-sawing. The pace had rroved too rapid for Chapman and he had dropped out before the last hail of the race. Towards the close of the ninth mile Oulton was leading by some yards, when Prowse had a tire punctured and quit the raise. We understand that there was a reserve bicycle waiting for him, but he evidently had come to the conclu- sion that Oulton has such a &a.in on him. that he could not overt_ _e him. Oulton finished alone, making the last three laps in 33, 82 and 31 ssc- onds, which is certainly travelling some. The time forthe ten _miles 'was 80-minutes, 18 seconds.
