Having received a petition signed by over thirty of the
_ principal residents inviting me to come forward as a Candi-
date for the representation of your ward in thc City _Council
I have decided, after due consideration, to accede to their
request. _
I have been a resident of the city all my life and in the
whole of my business career have been associated with Ward
3. I am personally known to the majority of the electors
and am familiar with their wants and aspirations in the
matter of municipal progress and reform. `
My experience as a member of the Fire Department for
the East twenty years enables me to speak with authority
on t e requirements of the city in this connection, and I re-

elected, to do everything in my power to make it so;
