HASZARD’S GAZETTE, SEPTEMBER, 25, HASZARIPB GAZETTE. _______ ” ___’__.L';..aT> Wednesday, September 25, 1855. For the last three nights running we have lied very severe frosts, and although the sun has shone warm and bright during the daytime, there has been a cold wind blowing, which has made itself sullieiently lelt in the shade. It has, nevertheless, been extremely favorable for the ooinplction of the harvest. From all we can learn, the crop will. in general. D0 an average one, if not more, though it is diliicult. to form an opinion from more reports, as these are often of the most contradictory nature respecting thesamo section ofthe country. The periodicals, on both sides of the Atlantic, speak of the extremely favorable harvest and the great returns already realized, but prices do not fall in consequence thereof. This is some- thing extraordinary, nor can it be wholly ac- counted for, by the circumstance of an iniiucnse army deiuanding large supplies, for gnintiiig that the majority of that army are tiiken from the productive classes oflabor, still such is the density of population in Europe, that there have arisen no complaints of want of hands, either to put in the crop or to run it. ' tie, a large llllilllllly of grain that used to lind its way into the British inarket froiii the Conti- nent, is prevent.-d by the l)lock.id0 of the ports in the Baltic.
