Tus railway crossing at the east end of Grafton Street is disgraceful t is impos- sible for a team to pass it without incurring serious injury. Herald. > -_ Crrizens of the lower part of the town com. plain beesuse the street drains in the upper par‘ ef the town are opened out by the Cor- poration, while those in frent of their resi dences are mot. They are thus, they say, compelled to open the drains themselves, or let the water from the drains above flow into their cellars and houses. For the Corporation to keep men employed in shovelling away the snow and opening the drains on the upper part of Graiten Street (near the store of the Chairman of the Street Committee) while they do nothing towards letting the water flow past the corner of Grafton and Hillsborough streets is—te use a mild term—ridiculously unfair. Tue tournament, which was to take place in Citizens’ Skating Rink to night, has been post;oned until Saturday next the 12th instant. The postponement is necessi’ated because of a depredation com mitted in the Rink last night. Some vandal entered the building through a window during the night, pulled the plug from the tank and flooded the Rink with water three inches deep, thus leaving it impossible for contestants to skate. The Directors of the Rink are endeavoring to find out the person who committed the depredation. They have offered $20 reward for infor- mation which will lead to cenviction of him. We hope they will succeed. ---->>- — Twe drawing in Babbitt's Gift Enterprise took place to-day with the following resu t :— The following numbers drew $2, each: 1373, 1912, 30-0, 3028, 614, 417, 149%, 509, 3098, ‘468, 67, 1087, 578, 901, 795, 597, 873 1217 2065, | 2025, 1208 1656, 1487. 1559. 2026, 977, 455, 1618, 410, 462, 1607, 754. 1743, 1782 1280 279, 1081, 960, 1145, 1239, 1363, 44, 912, 3005, 185-45.
