Its area, population, resourcer, modes of conveyance, manners and cus- toms of the people, etc., were deecribed, and at the close of his discourse Mr. Arsenault answered questions put to him by several gentlemen im the audience. The lecture was illustrated by views showing macy of the points of iuterest in South Africa, in addition to which pictures of Major Weeks and the Island contingent were projected. Upon motion of Mr. T. C. James the thanks of the large audi- ence were conveyed to Mr. Arsenault by Mr. Shaw, who presided, and the National Anthem closed the proceedings.
