BETTER ROAD.-The Roadmasters in West River, are getting busy on the roads. All washouts and dilapi- dated culvcrts have been promptly re- paired, many of the latter, consisting of wood, to be soon replaced by con- crete. More work is now being done with drags, which are considered by everyone to be a very eiiicient means of making good roads. They are es- pecially good in filling up ruts and depressions. One of the best is to be seen with Mr. Artemas Betts, road- ., master of Nine Mile Creek. SOUVENIR NUMBER.- The Guar- dian has received a. very handsomely printed souvenir booklet of The Burning of St. Dunstan's Cathedral. The descriptive portions are graphi- cally and clearly written giving a concise idea of the burning, the mem- orable scenes of which were witnessed by hundreds of citizens. The illustra- tions, all from excellent photo- graphs, show the Cathedral in its comlilleteness, interior and exterior, before the fire, and during the fire and the ruins after the fire. There is also a lovely photo of the late Rt. Rev. J. C. McDonald, D. D., making 0 one of the most comrpletc souvenirs yet published. The book goes on sale this morning at the different book- stores and the entire proceeds are in aid of the Cathedral Building Fund. Mr. A.
