A fine new and substantial steel bridge
has been erected over the stream at
Crosby’s Mille, Bonshaw. It is in one
span and the work has been most
credltsbly performed under the super-
vision ofinspector McKinnon. The new
bridge will afford every convenience and
accommodation for travellers, and is
another addition to the pcrmsnentbzidges
being introduced by the Government,
which are proving so successful and
economical in the maintenance of the
public roads and bridges of the Province. '
On the 24th July uit.,in the Presby~
terian Churuh, Giroux, Manitoba, which
was a mass of potted and out plants, the
marriage was solemnlaed of J. Hendenon
Lawson, station agent of that place, and
Misa Jennie, eldest daughter of A. A.
Hssted. At 4 o'clock, the bride, leaning
on the arm of ber father, entered the
church, while a wedding serenade wap
vary sweetly rendered by Miss Lawson,
sister of the groom. The bride looked her
best which is not saying s little, in a
dainty dress of cream silk, and wearing
a very elaborate gold watch and chain
the gift ot the groom. Sha was attended;
by hcr her sister Miss Mary Hosted.,
whose dress was cream colienne
and who wore n very nice- gold shirt-
walst set, also the gift of the groom. J.
H. Mcinnls P. E. I. was best man, and
Rev. Mr McFarlane. Winnipeg, oiilciutsd.
After the ceremony the' party, num-
bering about one hundred and
twenty five repaired to an adjoining hall,
which was fitted up for the occasion and
sat down to dinner tables supplied with
the good things of the West, and
calculated to satisfy the moat fastidlous.
The following morning the happy _young
couple left on s bridal trip through west-
ern Csnadn and will be at home to their
many friends ou Aug. 15. The presents -
from their friends included some very sub-
stantial ones, which have to be seen to he
admired and speak volumes above their
intrinslrc value. Mr. Lawson referred
to above isa son of D. A. Lawson Esq.
Hunter River, P. E. I. and is another of
our successful Islanders abroad.
