The deceased, a son of the late Dennis O’Brien and his wife Jane MacOartlhy, was born on Septem- ber 11, 1866 at Elmsdale. where he lived the most of his lib. As a young man he went to Rumford, Maine, where he was employed in the mills, returning to the old homestead about 45 years ago where he was engaged in farming until his retirement three years ago when he moved to Summer- side with his daughter and son-in- law. His body was transferred from the Bowness Funeral Home on Sunday to the Rooney Funeral Home in Alberton, from where his largely attended funeral was held on Monday at 9:30 a.m. 'o the Sacred Heart Church, Al- berton, where Reverend Phalen MacKenrnIa, parish priest sang the Requiem Mass and officiated at the grave. Pallbearers were: Messrs. James W. O’Brien, Roch O’Brien, Raymond Rix, George Hardy, Shades Dunn and Patrick Callag- Ian. _ Interment was in the adjoining church cemetery. IN MEMORIAM CATHERINE A. GILL There passed peaceiluily away at her residence, Union Road, on Thursday, November 6, 1958, Mrs. Catherine A. Gill, widow of the late John Gill, at the age of 88. Mrs. Gill was the oldest resi- dent of .the community of Union Road, Where she had resided since her marriage nearly 67 years ago. The deceased was confined to her bed for over two years but her faith in God, her Heavenly ‘Fathcr and in her Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ, held her steadfast through the many trials oi her life, and helped her too, not only to bear the immunities of age, but to be ever thought- fiul of the welfare of one and all, especially the members of her family who are left to cherish her memory. The late MIrs. Gill was born at Brave-inlay Point, May 29, 1870, the daughter- of the late David and Annie (Gordon) Walker. In 1091 she was married to the late John Gill, who passed aItIIIaIy Sep- tember 9, 1949.
