CHRISTMAS BlRD COUNTS This year's Christmas Bird Count dates have been set as foTTows: P.E.I. NationaT Park Count Sat. Dec. 18, Hiiisborouqh Count Mon. Dec. 27 and Montague Count Sun. Jan. 2. Everyone, whether beginner or on hand, is encouraged to participate in one or more of the counts. Participation fee is $2.00 per person per count for the National Park and HiTstorouqh Counts. This fee is forwarded to American Birds in New York and heips to defray expenses in pubiishing count resuits from across the continent. There wi11 be no fee for taking part in the Montague Count as it is not pianned to submit these resuTts to American Birds. Counters are once again asked to note any sightings of wde animais or their sign encountered during each count. In accordance with tradition, at the cTose of each count day, participants wiTT be gathering at a potTuck supper to thaw out, share adventures and compiTe the day‘s records. Other society members are aiso weicome to join in the after- count gatherings.
