The first blackflies were bouncing off in Donagh on May 11 and started biting in Donagh on May 15 (JDM). 
     
     Its been a strange year for biting bugs with cold weather and winds appearing to have slowed the appearance of 
     
     black flies and mosquitoes at many locations (e.g. no mosquitos on the Bain bird count! (JDM)). Tent 
     
     caterpillar made an appearance on May 29‘h in eastern P.E.I. (JDM).

     17 (DCS, DO). Wood frogs heard at Mount Stewart on Apr. 13 (DO). Wood frogs heard for the first time on 
     
     ~Apr. 20 and wood frogs and lone spring peeper on Apr. 22 at South Melville (RA). Lone spring peeper, first 
     
     of season in Donagh on Apr. 25 and a chorus on Apr. 27 (JDM). Yellow—spotted salamander at Vernon River 
     
     pond on May 2 (DK). Spring peepers, wood frogs, & American toads at many stops during owl surveys at

     FISH: On May 2, DK noted that the goldfish in his pond died after 5 years at Vernon River. The hem‘ng

     winter coat in Cherry Valley on Apr. 4 (DO) while one in summer coat was seen crossing the Park highway at 
     
     Long Pond on Jun. 18 (DG, JDM). Mink eating road kill in Mount Albion on Apr. 7 (DO). Beaver grazing on 
     
     a bank in Avondale on Apr. 7 (DO). Silver fox at Bridgetown on Mar. 14 (W&SFo). Red foxes yapping at 
     
     Stratford by golf course on Apr. 30 (AP). Coyotes calling at Rocky Point on Apr. 15 (LD), Valley on Apr. 26
