KINGSTON W. M. 3. The monthly meeting of the Kingston United Church W. M. S. was held at the home of Mrs. Wil- liam Younker on Tuesday, May 2nd. Due to the bad condition of the roads in April the meeting was postponed until May. The Easter programme in the monthly meet- ing was carried out. The different portions of scripture were read by the members. The hymns sung luring the service were: "When 1 Survey the Wondrous Cross". ”Thc Son of Man Goes Forth to War” and "'Lone in the Grave He Lay." Christian Stewartship was read by Mrs. Zylpha Newson. Minutes of previous meeting were read and approved. Roll Call was answered by six teen members. repeating a verse of Scriptures. Collection amounted to 52.90. Easter offering S1010. letter was read by Mrs. Willis from the Supply Secretary Mrs. MacPherson. A Card of Thanks was read from Mrs. Edgar New- son for fruit sent her. Next meeting is to be held in the Church on May 18th. Meeting closed with prayer by the Presid- en-t. Lunch was served by the host- ess and Committee in charge. MAPLE LEAF W. I. The Maple Leaf Institute of Travellers Rest held their May meeting in the club-room on Thursday evening. The president. Mrs. Fred Waite opened the meet- ing with the ode and creed. Min- utes were read and approved. Twelve members and one visitor responded to the roll call by an exchange of flower slips or seoda. Roll call for the June meeting is to be answered with "a joke". The program committee will be Mrs. Harold Moose and Miss Em- instcad of the usual school committee that all the members visit the school at the "school clas- ing". Plans for the general clean- ing of the Hall were considered. the date to be set at the next meet- ing when it is hoped all interested in the welfare of the community ball will give an afternoon towards assisting with the cleaning. A committee was appointed to purchase wall paper and drapes for the stage. Correspondence was read and discussed.
