Ai the stake-boat Teemer was leading a clean length, and gving like a “ scared deer.” He made a good turn, and called to Hanlan to ‘‘comeon.” MHanlan seemed to be winded, and in turning the stakebost he fell out of his boat. He wasa ‘‘ dead duck ” before this, however. The mile and a half to the stakeboat was made in 11m. 353., against a strong current, most remark- able time.
