Earl Warren is the 13th chief justice of the United States, a drreetirne Republican governor of California and the Republi- cans' 1948 vice-presidential can- didate. ' He also is head of the com» mission investigating the assas- sination of President John F. Kennedy, and personally heard dozens of witnesses. The report of the commission is expected shortly.
