Entries- Entries shall be mailed to the Secretary, using form provided on this page not later than May 3rd. 1.033. Note: Your entry fee is also your annual mem- bership fee in the Rural Beautification Society and entities you to attend the annual banquet, and meeting of the Society. ' 0 Judging- 1. Initial judging will begin May Tth, I933. 2. Final judging will commence Sept. 2, .1933. 3. Contestants must abide by the Judge's decision, which shall be final. ENTRANCE FEE of 551.00 MUST accompany all applications. All work done in Spring of 1953 prior to judg- ing, will he credited to the contestant. 6. Rural Beautification So- ciety. Increased awards for home and community im- provement are again possible this year. In addition the Veterans' Competition has been expanded. and a New Settlers' Competition, and a Rural Cemetery Competition have been added. Womenls Institutes, Junior Farmers, and. other groups are urged to get behind a clean-up and beaut- ification programme for their communities. The Society is grateful for a generous grant from the Provincial Department of Agriculture to carry on its work. To enter this Competition you may not have to make any improvements; your home may have been kept up to a high standard over the years. Schurman Co. Ltd. have donated substantial awards for the competition again this year. This contest will be on a provincial basis. Entry for the contest. must be made by an organized group or groups in the community. The community unit to be improved should not be smaller than a school district, but may be larger. Entries should state what improve- ments are planned. Individual homes of the com- munity may be included but there must be at least one combined community project such as hall, or school improvement. Prizes are offered for the best three community efforts in the province. RURAL CEMETERY IMPROVEMENT COMPETITION A prize of SI0000 is offered by the Society for the greatest improvement made this season in the appearance of a rural cemetery. This is a provincial competition. The contest will be judged on the basis of the need for improve- ment, the work that goes into it. and the rela- tive size of the communities involved.
