R. 4) was saddened to learn of the recent death of John William Meet-sod in his 58th year He was born st Beech Point, December 20th, 1891, a son of the lain George and Annie (Mstheson) Mccbeod. . He loved and grew up in a smal country settlement, in due course attending the small school nee-r his home. There he learned the molt important lesson of all: that money and material wealth are things which pass: that love. friendship and character are after au the most important in life. It may be truly said that "Jack" as he was familiarly known, never knew what it. was to envy any per- m. his nssreeation of physical QISGLS. Hi-s home was more than the usual set-up of parents and. child- ren. His friends were ever wel- come and their visits were eager- ly anticipated. I-Ic was a. man who reui extensively and kept himself well in tum with modem pro- gress. An excellent conversation- alist, he was also the possessor of a brilliant-wit. Although he liked to travel, his interests were so confined to Prince Edward Island. he rarely passed beyond the con- fines of those places populated by his friends. His“ last working days were spent in pursuit of his favorite occupation-tithing. More lucra- tive work was refused in order that he might join his fishermen friends. Left to mourn his passing is his widow the former Nettie Mac- Lesn; one daughter Rhoda (Mrs. Harvey Vsniot) of Stelluton. N- S; two sons, Fred of Montague and Basil of Btsllsrton; two sis- ters. I The largely attended funeral lservice was conducted by his pas- tor the Rev. C. Henderson. Wil- liard MacLean sang beautifully the deceasedb favorite hymn: “Let Your Lower Lights Be Burning". The choir sang: "The Old Rugged Cross” and “Beautiful Garden of Prayer". Pall pesrers were: Harry Vanlderstine, Stafford MacDon- ald, Russel Graham, Mont Her- ring. Jack Jackson and Bert Mac- Leod. Interment was in the fum- lly plot, Peter's Road cemetery. Mrs. John W.
