lion. M. Kennedy and Mr. J. A.
Messervy returned Saturday from
Moncton where they discussed mat-
ters oi vital importance to the trade
interests of P. E. island. with Gen-
eral-Supei-intendent Brown.
They report that the General Su-
perintendent is in favor of standard-
lzing the railway and doing away
with the third rail as quickly as pos-
sible.
The Superintendent says that the
Car-ferry steamer will be taken off
as early as possible to' so on the
marine slip at Halifax and the North-
umbcrland will take her' place be-
tween Point-‘du-Chene and Summer-
side. After ilie return of the CHI"-
ferry and after the change of time-
table the (‘1ii'-i`ei'ry will, make two
roiiiiil trips each day.
