‘ BRIEFS Dear Editor: A Red Cross Blood Do- nor Clinic was held at the UPEI Gym on Feb. 5 and 6. The objective for the cli— nic was 360 pints. I don't believe this is very much to ask from 1586 fulltime students, several hundred parttime students and fac— ulty and staff. Apparently, it was too much to ask as only 214 pints of blood we— re collected. The turnout of faculty and staff was very poor,in fact down right disgraceful. Onlykabout 19 showed up, most of whom were staff me— mbers. There were three acm- petitions held in conjunc- tion with this cliniczinter— residence—won by Memorial Hall,interclass-won by the Seniors, and interdepartment -won by the Biology Dept. The Biology Dept. issued a challenge to all the other departments, however, only the Home EconOmics Dept. accepted this challenge. Through the courtesy of the Cadre,-the co-chair- man,Elizabeth Arsenault as well as myself, would like to thank the following pe- ople and organizations: The most important are those who gave blood and I ELECTIONS Nominations opened Mon.
