McDonald Esq. of Hopedale on behalf of the , assembled friends' and some who were unavoidably absent presented Mr. McLeod with an appreciative addrc ss expressive of their regard, together with fdozen silver teaspoons and one silver uesses shown him in the past as well as on the present memorable occasion when at that his humble efforts as al member of vcould not say farewell to the friends of a lifetime without many regrets, but he hoped that the future would from time to time present opportunities for the renewal of the pleasant associations of the past. Messrs. K. McKenzie of Hartsville, A K. McDonald, Hopedale, M. Gillis and Chas. Tnpper, of Blliotts followed in short speeches expressing regret at the departure of Mr. and Mrs. McLeod and family from among them and assuring them of their wishes for the future. This brought this pleasant social meeting to a close, when they departed for their homes, each feeling the force and trllth of the words.
