     sequences for students. $85 million is being cut 
     
     from the Canada Summer Works Program; 
     
     consequently, an estimated 750 jobs for PEl

     Stuffed animals are found 
     
     in almost every woman’s 
     
     room on campus and in some 
     
     men’s rooms too. 
     
    

    
     The problem is that they 
     
     are being kidnapped and held 
     
     for ransom not only at UPEI, 
     
    
   
   
    
     ' but at every university across 
     
    
   
   
    
     the country. They are usually 
     
     held for a food ransom con- 
     
     sisting of a burger and fries. 
     
    

    
     The MO (that’s police talk, 
     
     eh, for modus operandi) is 
     
     always the same. They send 
     
     some fluff and warn the 
     
    
   
   
    
     ‘ owner that if the demands are 
     
    
   
   
    
     not met, he or she will never 
     
     see the “friend” again. 
     
     Since the MO is so similar 
     
    
   
   
    
     . across the country it is feared 
     
    
   
   
    
     that this is no light-hearted 
     
     joke, but rather is a major 
     
     ring which is making big 
     
     bucks selling these used toys 
     
     to places like carnivals where 
     
     they are easily fenced. It is 
     
     also possible that one of the 
     
     restaurant chains is trying to 
     
     boost sales by forcing stu- 
     
    
   
   
    
     dents to purchase food for 
     
    
   
   
    
     the ransom.

     Studentship is a series of lectures designed to assist you in being 
     
     successful academically, while at University. It is an opportunity for 
     
     you to pick up some study skills, learn how to make the most of your 
     
     classroom time, and manage your free time better. 
     
    

    
     Normally the series consists of six sessions which are held 
     
     during September and October. For the first time during the second 
     
     semester several of the lectures will be offered again. 
     
    

    
     The sessions will be held twice daily in the Lecture Theatre of 
     
    

    
     r the Robertson Library, and are free of charge. You are welcome to 
     
     attend any or all sessions according to your choo
