Located in the Student Union Barn, the shop will be open Monday to Friday 8 am- 4 pm and its staff looks forward to serving students and faculty. Owner Dave Beaton, former UPEI student, says he’s excited about being on campus and looks forward to being very active in promoting university activities. Last weekend, Dunkin Donuts took part ion UPEI’s Panther Action Weekend by hosting an autograph session at their University Ave. location. Members of the Panther Hockey team were on hand to meet with youngsters and hand out free autographed calenders. The chain is also involved in promoting a number of other Island charities, including the Chil- dren’s Wish Foundation. Mr. Beaton would like to thank Heather Love and members of the Student Union who worked so dili- gently to secure the location and helped with the opening . He invites everyone to drop in fora coffee and donut, (which he would like to point out, mcan be enjoyed in the Panther Lounge) (Not: See this week’s issue of the X-Press (January 16th) for your Dunkin Donuts coupon) MAYBE I SHOULDN'T WAVE KICKED IT A FRIENDLY REMINDER When your out after dark, whether itis walking to your car after a late class or after eating chinese food at 2 o’clock inthe morning, remember to think safety. Never just wear dark clothes, always wear something that will reflect in the dark. I’m not saying neon, but maybe some pastel. If you do not care for light clothes then carry a flashlight. I know from experi- ence that walking late at night just wearing dark clothes is not very safe. I’m sure some of you would be thinking at this moment that carrying a flashlight to a pub orto arestaurant is not very hip, but the flashlight does not have to be gigantic. Perhaps ladies put one in your purse before you go out and gentle- men put asmall one in your pockets. I’m sure a lady would be impressed later on by yourconcern over her safety. So remember to think safe. Accidents do happen, even to the best of us. UPEI X-P RESS
