DOUGLAS 'Residents of Savage Harbor and vicinity were saddened to learn of the death on March 15th of one of their oldest and most respected residents in the person of Joseph Cofltln Doug-las. been in failing health, and very little hope for a return to health was evident, However. through the many trying hours in which he lay in bed. he was never known to complain or become discouraged. Son of Mr. and Mrs. William Douglas. he was b0l'n at Cherry Hill in 1870 where he spent the lng of his mother in 1875. at which where he resided the rest or his life ing and fishing. Josie, as he was fanillarly known. was a kindly man whose home was always given to hospitality and who was always ready to help a friend and neighbors in need. Mr, Douglas, the last member of his family, was predceased a num- ber of years ago by his sister. Cora. and two brothers, Nathan and Wil- liam. Left to mourn his passing are his widow, fcrmerly Gertrude T Coffin. and his two children, Hu- ban, of Dorcl'ies.iter. Mas-.. and Ada (Mrs. Wilfred Coffini, Savage Har- bor; also nine grand children by all of whom he will be greatly missed. He was visited flilflllrz his illness by Rev. W.N.
