Ch’'town, Sept. 23, 1890. “ This is true Liberty, when Free Born Men, having to advise the Public, may speak free.”—Evrirines. King’s County Exhibitio A Large Attendance. AN EXCELLENT DISPLAY. THE PRIZE LIST. Tue EXaMINER must congratulate the gentlemen composing the King’s Co. Exhibi-| tion Association upon the success attending the exhibition held under their auspices at Georgetown yesterday. held on the new exhibition and driving park grounds, and was highly creditable to ali concerned. There was a large atten- dance of spectators, and the exhibits, both outside and inside the drill shed were of excellent quality, although in some few instances the quantity was not so great as at former exhibitions. The display of horses was creditable alike to the county, and to the exhibitors.’ Some splendid specimens of carriage stal- ions, colts and fillies were shown by Messrs. Leslie Poole, Ti 1E. Buchannan, Wm. Shaw, James Nicholl, H. McEwen and others. In the imported cart stallion class the honors were carried off by General Burnett, Young, Royal Tom, and Hepburn Clyde, aud ani- mals owned respectively by Jas. MeMil- lan, Somerville, and John Collins, New Perth, were the prize winners in the Island bred cart stallion class. The other classes were well filled, and the names of the successful competitors will be found in the prize list. In cattle, the principal exhibitors were F. G_ Bovyer, W. Gordon, Alex. Hamilton, Jas. Clow, P. A. Dewar, H. Nelson, A. C. Macdonald, Rev. Stephen Phelan, John Byrne, and other well- known farmers and stock raisers of the County. The display throughout was a capital one. Of sheep and pigs some splendid specimens were also shown. Inside, the shed, the show of rovts and vegetables, fruit, butter and cheese, fancy work, etc, was excellent. M. E. Griffin, of Georgetown, exhibited two models of steamships—one of the cruiser Acadia and the other of the Aus- tralia—both of which were greatly admir- ed. Mr. Stewart’s collection of birds, to which we referred yesterday, also attracted a good deal of attention. The grounds -upon which the show of stock and the races took place are highly creditable to the Association and the County. The racing track is well graded and otherwise arranged, and will afford the horsemen of the County facilities for de- veloping their stock not hitherto possessed. The order maintained throughout the day was good. The Georgetown Boys Band furnished music at intervals during the proceedings. Tue EXaMINEeR’s representative is in- pebted to Mr. Geo. F. Owen, the Com- pany’s indefatigable Secretary, forcourtesies extended. Following is the PRIZE LIST :— HORSES.
