Harrrornp, June 5.—The Rev. Mr. Baker is pastor of the Advent Church in Bristol, bat on Sunday the Church will hold a meeting to discuss the question of asking his resignation. When the congre- zation started to sing last Sueday, Mr. aker arose and said that none but Chris- tians should be allowed to sing the praises of God. The choir stopped right there and the organist left the church, and Mr. Baker had to lead the singing during the rest of the services. At prayer meeting it has been Mr. Baker’s custom in address- ing the Deity to expose the alleged short- comings ie of the church members, speaking in the plainest terms in his prayers for their regeneration. This sys- tématic “calling down” of the members of the church has become tiresome. Neither reasoning nor expostulation has availed anything, and the church members have decided to ask for the resignation of Mr. Baker. immigration, officers to materialize on | PRETTY THINGS FOR BABY please mamma too, and mamma can see them in our store, where many pther mammas and babies will be fouod to-have come already.
