Women's Soccer The women's soccer team is currently battling for a playoff spot in the Western Division. The team will have to stay focused for the full 80 minutes of a game, and minimize the scoring chances of their oppenents, while keeping an offensive mind set as well. The playoffs are within their grab, but it's up to the team to take a firm hold on the future in soccer. “GW LT HomeRoadF A Pts UCCB 84:04: 3-0-2'1-6-2 93 as 12 Moncton $8 3°32) 2-2-1. 441-) 9 7 8 UPEI 8 24 2 1-3-01-129 10 6 Mount Allison:...; 8.45.4, 3) O2-a.4220 @enculL, 3s UNB 8 P61 04-1 1-204 es Player Team Goals 1. "Following our only loss of the sea- son," says team captain Brett Norton, explaining the team's success. "We made it our goal to win the remaining eight games of our schedule going into the break." "The one loss to SMU was more of a positive thing," says mid fielder Joey Seaman, "I think we used it was a wake-up call." And the team has been successful so far, as they have won 6 of the 8 games. "A great deal of credit has to go our coach Lewis Page," declares mid fielder, Jonathan Vos, "every minute of every practice is intense and pushes us to be better." This intensity has payed off, as the team is well underway to clinch first place in the Western Division, which will give them to right to host the AUS Championships. "Hosting playoffs will be an incredible boost for us," says Vossey. "There isn't a team in the league who likes to come here and play at McAdam Field," Brettski explains. "It's just so damn windy, but we're used to it and we like it. Plus, our fans are the tops in the league, especially in the playoffs. Which will help us in [our] overall goal of win- ning the AUS."
