They took the sidewalk at Apothecaries Hal], and as they ran at full speed with the wheels, bar and axle of the truck flying about them, the scene was as dangerous as it was lively. Opposite Mr. Large’s premises, they became entangled and fell, but one escaped and ran towards North River, A force of twenty-five or thirty men surrounded the other. He was momentarily becoming more ferocious, the men had great difficulty in placing a slip-knot ov his neck, and thus partly strangled him. In this way prevented from doing further damage, Mr. Drake very properly applied the butchers’ krife, slaughtered the animal, and removed the carcass trom the street.
