Gen. Secy. of the Lords Day Alli-
ance and his address was much en-
joyed and left the feeling with
everyone to try and keep the
Sabbath in the way it was intended
to 'be kept.
He txplained that the Alliance
was formed almost fifty years ago
by our fathers when the different
churches across Canada seeing the
danger confronting them if some-
thing was not done formed this
society and though against great.
odds at all times still on the whole
much good has been done by, as the
Rev. gentleman said keeping out as
it were matters of a foreign nature
that if once they get a footing are
very hard and at least are almost
impossible t.o eradicate. His il-
lustrations were of a very helpful
nature and carried great lmsons
with them. As this was his first
visit to Belfast he expressed his
great pleasure at being here and
remarked on the beautiful scenery
in this part of our fair Island.
The annual Orange Service was
held in the afternoon and although
the day was' very hot a large con-
gregation was present and a num-
ber of visitors. Several members

Is Highest
In every province of the Domin-
ion the tax content of every dollars
worth of gasoline bought exceeds
25 cents and in three of them it is
over 30 cents.
By a recent computation it has
been shown that in this singular
tax garade Alberta surprismgly
has t e lowest levy. When a purch-
aser spends $1.00 for gasoline in
Alberta. he may count that 25.04
oents goes toward taxes.
In other provinces the corrcs-
