Here is a specific Instance. The old Crosby Mill is located on the head of Mill Creek. Marsh- fleld and is approximately 6 miles from the City. The mouth of thist creek is tidal and a favourite hang- out for ducks. geese and brant in the spring and is a noted fall shooting ground. Just recently a city angler was fishing on this null pond that has been converted hto a by-pagg geese is known to frequent the mouth of. this creek with some ducks and brant thrown in for good measure. This angler reported gun- shots at intervals all afternoon and on into the evening coming from direction of the river. On being questioned it was teamed that every hour or so there'd be shots. Sometimes one or two and at others regular volleys of eight or 10 shots. It was just a regulary open season hunt and not a blti and run racket. one morning this week I was in a store and a chap who lives in the Red Point Wharf area across the river from Mill Creek came up to me and remarked: "Things are not so quiet In the evenings since you left''. It took me a min- ute or two to place where he liv- ed. He told me there were a lot of geese In the creek across the river and hardly a day passed but that he heard shots morning or evening. A few days ago they the river in the general Orwell area. was searched by the Klllll County warden without results. I was on his trail myself lot 15 years without getting the loodl on him.
