(Received over Woods- Reade MARKET , BULLETIN MORNING MARKET LETTER NEW YORK, May 26-'I‘he fail~ ure of the market to develop a better upside following Ln SBYQEQI mild rallying tendencies during the day apparently influenced some selling in the last hour. The gains registered in the six proceeding sessions were large enough in the Bigfégaie to weaken the technical pcxition of the market somewhat so that a moderate setback at this juncture would not be illogical. However, we are inclined to think that the recent lows will hold and that after some irregularity the uptrend will be resumed. The metal division acted particularly well yesterday and apparently could show considerable buoyancy in a better general market. The oil group also displayed firmness. One interesting aspect of the Oil situation is the indication of a favorable position for the refining division over the ne_xt few months. A record demand for gasoline should promote a firm price structure for that product while supplies of crude evidently are plentiful enough to insure the rc- finers against any sharp advance 1n crow costs.
