_LTAKE‘THE BOODWITH TH As this is the last edition of the Cadre, I feel that I must write an article con- cerning our editor. Over the past year many articles have been written and many things have been said criticizing him, mocking him, down trod- ding him, etc. No one seems to-have had anything good to say about him. Well I think it's about time some; one did. If any 232 of those people who have criticized this years Cadre would look up editions from past years they would see that Stan Dalton has made the Cadre into ' something worthwhile and so- mething this university can be proud‘of. In previous years it has been nothing but a gossip column on about the same level as Ann Landers. You all picked on Stan's articles because of his att- acks on capitalism. Why is E no this? Did you ever think that maybe you hate it only because you can't understand it? I wonder?! I think that Stan has given us all some- thing to think about-if we only want to. However, if gossip is all that your small minds can comprehend then you should buy copies of the local high school papers. Maybe you don't even belong in universityl. I don't see why Stan should change for you when you won't even try to see his a side of the story. In his editorials he writes about 'things he really believes in ‘and I think you will all agree that we should all stand up for our beliefs. Besides, why get so hung up about his attacks on capital- ism when there were plenty of other articles to read - the editorial does not con- stitute the whole paper. It THE CADRE, TUES., APRIL 9, 197a Page 13 seems to me that a lot of people aroud here get sat- isfaction out of complaining. Also, if you were‘that con- cerned about the material in the Cadre why haven't we seen your names at the end of some "worthwhile" articles? I think that Stan Dalton is one of the few people at this university who is really con- cerned about what is happen- ing to us - the students and he appears to be the only one who is interested enough to find out what can be done to help us. In my opinion it will be very difficult to find someone to take Stan's place --'someone who isn't easily swayed, someone who will keep the Cadre up to his standards. I believe that cre- dit should be given where credit is due. In my eyes, gtzn Dalton deserves that cre- 1 e A proud & satisfied reader. éumss mum A problem has arisen regarding a picture on the back page of _the Cadre(Mar.26,197h) of a ‘"streaker".1‘1 / The streaker is, according to , sources, quite angry at Jim Crombie for putting the picture in the Cadre. However, no pic- ture, whether by Crohbie or any- one else, is placed in the Cadre - without the editor's permission. Therefore, since it is the ed- itor who is responsible, then it is to the editor that the streaker must come. What kind of goddamn nonsense is this ? ‘What's the point of streaking if you din't want to be seen? graph it-even if it is a soft- assed, pot-bellied, round— shouldered idiot running about campus with nothing on!
