A hardware merchant at 1Bl-ud- erheixn, Alta., since 1924, Malcolm Garfield Christie, 72, died recently. Although the late Mr. Christie was not native born, his wife was formerly Margaret Bernard. A daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Bernard of Darnley, Lot lll, this Province. Islanders who have visited Edmonton and vicinity rill recall having met this kindly gen- - tleman on many occasions. Mr. Christie was born at Island Brook, Que.. in 1381 and came west in 1904, settling at Lacombe. Survivors include his widow, I. son. Ryerson, of Bruderheim, rs. daughter. Odessa. of Lacombe and two brothers, Dr. Victor Christie of Calgary and Rycrson Christie of Cardston. ' The funeral service was held Friday at the Howard and McBride Ltd, chapel. Rev.
