     Jan. 2 - The Montague Christmas Bird Count will be the Natural History Society's 3rd 
     
     contribution to the 100th Anniversary of the Christmas Bird Counts. There is no fee for 
     
     this fun count in which the observations are recorded in the Society's Island Naturalist. If

     Jan. 4 - The second of a six evening bird identiﬁcation course being taught by Dan McAskill and 
     
     Ray Cooke for members of the Natural History Society of Prince Edward Island. The 
     
     course starts at 7:00 pm and runs for 45 minutes. 
     
    
     Jan. 4 - The Society's Annual Meeting will feature an update on the rare bird sightings in 1999 
     
     and Dan McAskill describing "Wildlife management in our provincial forests". The 
     
     meeting starts at 7:45 pm at the Farm Centre at 430 University Avenue.
