After enrollment Mr. W. MacBeth was appointed president. Mr. MaeBeth after brief remarks called on Supervisor Court who gave a very instructive address on school work mentioning particular- lythe time table; systematic meth- ods of teaching, school fairs and Junior Red Crow. Supervisor Mur- phy also spoke about the school fair work. He expressed his desire to see all teachers use the sand- table and make more use of school libraries; he also spoke about the keeping of the register and advised that the Junior Red Cross be in all schools. Mr. MacBeth read a very instructive paper on the necessity of yearly, monthly and daily pro- grammes in school work. The mor- ning session closed with a demon- stration and interesting talk by Mr. Williard Plcketts on the subject of Temperance Education contrasting the effect of water and alcohol on different substances. During the afternoon session Miss Catherine MacLean spoke of new rules in Junior Red Cross and ways of or- ganlzlng new branches. Mr. H. H.
