A correspondent of the London Times writes to that paper in reference to Diptheria as follows: It is just possible that my expericnce of this disease in Lincolnshire in 1850, one village should have it, and another be exempt. Garfield says the Grant movement ts daily increasing, but that none can say with the slightest degree of certainty what two vears will bring forth in the tield of politics Grant may have dropped entirely out of public life by that time, and another as popular as he now is may have arisen—one who has not even been heard of, Such are the sudden vicissitudes of American poli- tical life. Jdiaon Satie The People Want Proof. There is no medicine preseribed by physi cians, or sold by Druggists, that carries such evidence of its success and superior virtues as Boscure’s GERMAN Syrvr for severe Coughs, Colds settled on the breast, Consumption, or any disease of the Throat and Lungs. A proof of that fact is that any pereon afflicted, can yet a Sample Bottle for 10 cents and try its superior effect before buying the regular size at 75 cents. It has lately been introduced in this country from Germany, and its wonderfau. eures are astonishing everyone that use it. the Creation of Man, or since the Commencement of the Christian Era. There never has been a time when tho heal- ing of so many different diseases has pdeea caused by outward application as the present. It isan undisputed fact that over half of the entire population of the globe resort to the use of ordinary plasters. Yr. MELVIN’s Capsicum Ponovs PLASTER are acknowledged by all who have used them, to act quicker than any other plaster they ever before tried, and that one of these plasters will do more real service than & hundred of the ordinary kind. All other plasters are slow of action, and require to be worn continually to effect acure; but with these it is entirely dlf- ferent: the ‘nstant one is applied the patient will feel its effect. Physicians in all ages have thoroughly tested and well know the effect of Capsicum; and it has alwars been more or less used as a medical agent for an outward application; but it is only of very recent date that its advan- tages in a porous plaster have been discovered. Being, however, convinced of the wonderful enres effected by Dr. Mrivin’s Capsicum Porous PLASTERS, and their superiority over all other plasters, they now actually preseribs them, in their practice, for such diseases as rheumatism, pain in the side and baek, and all such cas-s as have required the use of plasters orliniment. After you have tried other plas- ters and lHiniments, and they have failed, and you wantacertain cure, ask your druggist for Dr. MeLvin's CapsicceM Porovs PLASTER, You can hardly believe yourown convictions of ita wonderful effects.
