Specie altles bv well known Charlottetown Seed For Spring Planting Now that the season of the year is approaching when the fan-hers will he selecting seed for spring planting, our Depart- ment would earncstly ask all farmers to secure their seed early. The indications are that there is plenty of good seed on the Island at the present time, and we would advise farmers to see that the seed they sow has been cleaned. and particularly to avoid sowing seed infested with wild mustard. We have fifteen or sixteen thousand bushels of barley and a corresponding amount of’ oats made up of different varieties listerl with us for sale, so that we are ln a position to advise anyone hav- ing difficulty in securing their requirements. In regard to oats our Department would strongly recommend the sowing‘ of Erban oats. It has proven itself to be the best vs- rlety grown in the province. With reference to wheat, we would recommend Coronation. It gives n. good yield, the flour is good and it ls highly rust-resistant. The only objection is that it is a little hard to thresh but we feel sure that generally speaking it. will give good satisfaction. W. H.
