A neat stage had been erected, and at the appointed hour the different performers were at their posts. Vocal and instrument- al music, songs and recitations made up the programme, and the manner in which the children performed their parts was highly creditable to amateurs. Owing to the af- fair having been announced previous to Miss Scott’s performance being advertized, many of those present regretted not being able to attend the latter, which probably accounts to some extent for the sparseness of the audience, but we learn that all are preparing to hear this talented actress to- night. —Com.
