ANOTHER CHANCE TO SEE BRUNSWICK STRING QUARTET by Andrea Ledwell The Sunday afternoon performance given by the Brunswick String Quartet, artists in residence this week, proved to be an excellent be- ginning to a week devoted to chamber music at the UPEI music department. For those not fortunate enough to attend this perfor- mance, fear not. The quartet will be performing two more times before they leave our campus. They will be per- forming Thursday, March 24 (this evening) at 8 pm in the Steel Recital Hall, with Dr. Frances Gray, pianist. Ad- mission is $8 for adults, $3 for students and seniors, and tickets are available at the door. As their final perfor- mance, the quartet will be performing with UPEI stu- dents and the chamber cho- rus on Friday, March 25 at 7:30 pm. PLEASE NOTE THIS CHANGE IN TIME OF PERFORMANCE. Ad- ® absolutely free, is with a reception following. Our department and univer- sity are very privileged to have these world-class musi- mission cians working with us. _ It would be to anyone’s advan- tage to hear them perform. = “Hold it — Columbus just returned with some Startling news!” cont. from Page 3 not through the eyes of our enemies,” he said. Abdullah said that what we have been seeing on the news is not a Story, but a scene. “You can judge for your- self who is the terrorist and who is the victim,” he said. However, when asked if he thought Israel has the right to exist as a nation am the PLO representa- ih hedged saying the mat- *r was not a yes/no ques- tion. When asked if Pales- tine had a similar right to exist, Abdullah immediately said yes. “Israel is the only coun- try that doesn’t have defined borders”, he said. He went on to explain that the two blue strips on the flag of Israel symbol- izes the Nile and Euphrates rivers and that the coun- try may want to expand its, boarders to that extent. ENE EEE - cont. from Page 4 DEAR GEM, I have never been so an- gry at a cleaning staff of any institute. I have done cleaning for several years and keep any building or partic- ular place clean all the time but to continue to come into my 8:00 class and have the board and the room look like a pigpen has to stop. Dr. Leblane has tried on many occasions to do just the thing Perhaps this letter seen in the Gem will get the people in the higher ranks the idea that we,the students in Bio 110 will not stand to learn in a pigpen. Thank you very much for the space in this column. ee ee - 3 i know how hard it is to but obviously to no avail.
