It will be issued bi-monthly. the first number coming out in November. Each province is to be re presented on the edi- torial staff by two members of the profession, the Halifax editurs being Drs. Campbell and Morrew. There is a good field for such a jonrnal and its appearance will doubtless be hailed with satisfaction by the medical men. Wreck.—The schooner Vixen, Captain Shiner, with a cargo of coal for the Island railway, sprang aleak, off Belle Creek, on Thursday, and had to be run ashore on the south side of Point Prim at nine o'clock at night in order to save the lives of those on board. After springing aleak, the Captain tried hard to make Charlottetown, but the pumps gave out, and she made water so fast that she had to be run ashure as above stated. The wind was Llowing very hard at the time, and the crew had a narrow escape. They saved little or nothing. Neither vessel nor cargo were insured. Se -----—-—-—--_— Personal. P. A. McIntyre, M. Sir Charles Warren, chief of the metro- blood hounds in his efforts to discover the perpetrator of the Whitechapel murders. The police place great confidence in the story of George M. Dodge, seaman, who siates that in August he met a Malay cook named Alaska, with whom he had previously been acquainted, in a music hall im London, and Alaska told him he had been rubbed of all he had by a woman of the town, and he threatened that unless he found the woman and recovered his pro- perty he would kill and mutilate every Whitechape! woman he met. Great Naval Display. Hatrrax, Oct. 2. Wednesday next will be a gala day here. The seven war ships now in port go cut on Tuesday evening,and on Wednesday morning 2,500 marines and saileurs will endeavor to effect a landing at some vulnerable point. All the militia and regulars will be under arms at 3 o'clock in the morning, and will be sent to oppose the invaders. It is esti- mated that 3,000 men will take part in the mock battle. Sir John Ross will be in comnaand of the troops. Fatal Accident. Haurrax, Oct. 5. To-day while Clark Caldwell, a con- tractor, was sitting on the top staging of the Church of England Institute, the staging gave way and he fell on a pile of brick, and was killed instantly.
