He was a member of the United Baptist Church and an upright and hon- est citizen beloved by his family and a wide circle of friends. Mr. Duncan Nicholson of Bede- que met death under very tragic circumstances on Saturday night when his car plunged over the pic-r at Borden while he was at- tempting to turn the machine. Mr. Nicholson had left his home about 7130 saturday evening and arrived at Borden somewhere around 8:15 pm. to meet his cousin. Mrs. Mac- Donald. who was to arrive that evening from the States. Mr. Nicholson drove his car down the side of the main deck to the small pier where the old carferry, the Prince Edward Island, is usually in dooi: but at the present time is on duty, 11nd went to turn to come up along side the main approach. His car was following the water and quite near the edge and apparent- lv had intended to back so as to turn but must have shifted the wrong gear. Eye witnesses said the car shot forward and went over the pier into 30 feet of water. Nicholson was alone in the car. —-SAD NEWS RECEIVED —- The news of the tragic death of Air- crafismarl G.
