THE ee en mes ————— DAILY EXAMINER. net SATURDAY, JULY 9. 1892 Ciosing Exercises at Corawall School. The half-yearly examination of Cornwall school took place on June 30th. A large number of visitors attended and were well pleased with the progress made by the pupils. After the closing exercises, the pupils presented Miss Leonard with an elegantly-chased piece of silver, accom- panied with the following address : Dear Teacner,—It is with feelings of deep regret that we part with you to da a, and we beg your acceptance of this small gift, te show our appreciation of your efforts on our behalf. In after years we will look with pleasure on the many happy days we have spent together in this room; and now, wishing you many years of prosperity and happiness in whatever position you may be placed, we will ssy—Good-bye. Puriis oF CoRNWALL ScHooL. REPLY. My Dear Cartprex,—Your beautiful gift and accompanying address have indeed taken me by surprise. I can only thank you for both with all my heart, and if words fail to express what | feel, you wil! know that there are “thoughts that are often too deep for tears.” Uur pleasant companionship has ended, and with deep regret I leave you; but this testi- mony of affection and kind appreciation of my services, go far to lessen that regret. Let me say, however, that if I have succeeded in my work with you the merit lies, as no effort on my part would have been successful with out your generous and hearty response : In saying good-bye, my wish for you is that your future may see the bright promises of your school days fulfilled, until finally the work we have begun together may be perfected and glorified in the eternity of God.
