ANNIVERSARY 0F ODDFELLOWS - The one hundred and thirtieth anniversary of the founding of Oddfellowshrlp in America was fittlngly observed by the Oddfellows and Rebekahs of the Montague Lodges when fifty- thrse members and friends attend- ed a banqquet which was held in the Lodge Room Thursday eve- ning, April 28th. When the blessing had been sung, members and friends were seated about a very attractive table which had been ar- ranged in horseshoe fashion and centered with a beautifully decor- ated three tier anniversary cake. Following a bountiful supper, the Master of Ceremonies, Mr. Archie Hllchey, proposed the toast to the King in response to which "God Save The King” was sung. A toast to Our Country’ was proposed by Mr. C. A. Shaw and "The Maple Leaf Forever" was sung in re- sponse. The Noble Grand of Hill- side Lodge, Mr. Athoi Robertson. then proposed a toast to the Order of Oddfeilovrship to which Miss Thelma Larter responded. A toast to the Ladies, proposed by Mr. E. l-l. Stewart, was responded to by Mrs. Elsie Watterwurth. Brief remarks were heard from Mrs. D. R. Faser. Mr. Bruce lviacLean, Mr. R. G. MacDonald, Mr. J, H. Mac- Gregor and Mr. W. C. Stewart.
