THR centre of attraction last evening to
the ladies of the city-was f evidently the
Sc McLeod. From half past seven until
the blinds were drawn at nine o’clock, the
store was filled by an admiring throng
inspecting the many attractions, display
ed on all sides. The store was ve
draped beautifully with delicate shades
of silks, ribbons. etc. On the first door-
also there were some very handsome
exhibits-‘-notablya splendid showin? of
new dress fabrics one of the specialties of
this firm. Of course the main interest
centered on the second iloor, where the
fine display of new millnery was held.
Dainty, stylish new hats and bonnets, of
every color and description, were taste-
fully displayed on all sides. Many of the
designs were models from London and
Paris. but the larger number were the
original productions of Miss Toombs the
iirm's millner, who is much to be congrat~
understand the exhibit remains unchang-
ed today-and we would recopamend every
lady who has not called to do so.
