This would give an opportunity oi taking into consideration the success of the conversion loan which is being offer- ed in exchange for victory bonds be- ginning tomorrow. The period for making the conversion will conclude on May 23. The loan does not make any actual difference to the expendi- tures for the coming year since the reduced rates oi interest, will not ap- ply until the old bonds would have matured. However, it would be a. bright spot on Canada's financial horizon ii the new loan goes over bil and a happy mature of the budget speech. The resolution on the order paper for the establishment of the Tariff Advisory Board will probably be de- bated during the coming week in Parliament and bring out a. state- ment from Premier R. B. That country was seeking to encour- age more diversified agriculture by l. protective tariff. The question was placed on the order paper by A. E. Maci-esn, (Liberal.
