Letrers a= - Dear Editor, I am fed up! brary is too noisy. I am sick Our li- and tired of people treat- ing it as a lounge. — It’s extremely rude. At the high cost of tuition it makes sense to study hard. To my fellow students I say. “If you are not here for an ed- ucation then get out.” The ones who want to study can’t because of the noise. It is just plain un- fair. Please talkers have a heart. Editor, please help. If people don*t shut up Ill throw them out with my bare hands. Signed, Desperate for an Education! Dear Editor: This letter wasn*t writ- ten solely to tell you where you neglected to mention information but the reason behind it. There is enough nega- tive expectations about the ladies field hockey team and your article in the Sports section last week did not help! Your statement read: “This year with no doubt the field hockey team is go- ing to wim a game. or at least tie one.” You were correct to state that the ladies lost their first two season games but you did not mention their tie to St. Francis Xavier on Sept. 20! The wanes. win a game or at least going to * was quite unnec- essary! Did you know the field hockey team played in a tournament four days be- fore their seasou opened? At this tournament they WON, tiedand lost a game. there's lit- tie one’ Its no wonder tle confidence given to the they’re never piven success! team credit for Please find a more accurate authority on the games out- their comes next time! In future. we will try to make the Sports page a little more optimistic. Dear Editor: TI object to an irrational argument by Mr. Longley (in the September 24th issue) in his attempt to legalize the cultivation of marijuana. Aside from his claims of the safety of mar- made ijuana, he has presented a twisted view of Chinese his- tory. Marijuana has never been a part of Chinese eul- ture. . Regrettably, opium has played a part in the re- cent history of China. Opium was introduced to southern China in the late 18th century by for- eign traders. largely hy those of the British Em- pire.
