Montague Fire Dept. Monthly Meeting Held ,.'At the regular monthly meet- mg of the Montague Fire Depart- ment held in the town hall last night, it was decided by unam- mous voto that all membe of the department he requested to take . first aid course. The suggestion ".5 made by Gilbert Clements, who stated that a knowledge of first aid fundamentals was vital to the members of the department because lives can be saved by first gm, properly and quickly adminis- Lered at the scene of a fire. Mr. Clements went on to say that. he and fellow fireman. John Shaw. would be happy to instruct s first aid class made up of fire- men and anyone else who might be interested in it, and that the renumeration he would receive for it from the Red Cram. would he used to purchase a respirator for the department. Mr. Clements and Mr. Shaw are both qualified instructors. A number of reports were heard. Ralph Beck reported that three new insurance policies were re- ceived by his committee and com- plete details of these will be brought to the next meeting for close study. Gilbert Clements reported that sfter surveying the project he es- timated that 7,000 ft. of wire would be needed to install alarm bells in the individual homes of the firemen. and that he would re- port on an estimated cost of the wire at the next meeting. It was also reported that run- berized pliers had been purchased and Fred Vuozzds suggestion that rubber mitts. rope. and easily portlible hand lights were needed by the department was approved by vote and a committee was ap- pointed to look alter the matter.
